Track every batch with survival and water quality data, from broodstock records and spawning to larvae and saleable juveniles.

Broodstock tracking

The origin, maturity and performance of broodstock are on record.

Batches and survival

Count and survival rate are tracked for larval and juvenile batches.

Ready for sale

Juvenile sales are linked to farm customers with lots and documents.

Why hatcheries need dedicated records

A hatchery manages biological processes that are measured in hours and days, at very high numbers and with steep survival curves. A single spawning can produce hundreds of thousands of eggs; fertilisation and hatching rates, larval rearing stages, live feed production, weaning and grading all affect how many saleable juveniles result. Small differences in water quality, feed or handling can change survival dramatically. Without structured records, it is difficult to know why one batch succeeded and another failed, and to show customers the quality of what they buy.

Broodstock records

Each broodstock fish can be recorded with its tag, sex, weight, tank and spawning history. Over time this shows which broodstock produce the best eggs and the best-performing offspring, supports planned replacement of older broodstock, and documents origin for customers who ask where their juveniles came from.

From spawning to saleable juveniles

  • Spawning: date, broodstock group, egg quantity and quality.
  • Fertilisation and hatching: rates per batch, which are the first indicators of batch quality.
  • Larval stages: tank, counts, feeding regime and transfers between stages.
  • Water quality: temperature, oxygen, pH, salinity, ammonia and nitrite readings for each tank.
  • Health and treatment: treatments, disease observations and withdrawal records.
  • Transfer and sale: juveniles moved to the farm or sold to customers, with lot and documents.

Lot and batch tracking keeps the lineage from egg to shipment, so every juvenile lot can be traced back to its broodstock and rearing history.

Survival as the key indicator

Survival at each stage, together with water quality and feeding records, is the most useful data a hatchery collects. Comparing batches shows at which stage losses occur and under which conditions. This turns experience that often stays in individual staff members’ heads into records the whole team can use.

Serving farm customers

Farms buying juveniles increasingly ask for size, health status and origin documentation. When sales are linked to batches and lots, the hatchery can provide these documents with each delivery and answer later questions from the buyer from its records. For hatcheries that supply their own group’s farms, the same records continue directly into grow-out.

Getting started

Implementation starts with a process analysis of your tanks, stages and products. Existing broodstock and batch records can be migrated, staff are trained on the screens they use, and support is available 24/7.

Frequently asked questions

Can tank staff enter data from a phone?

Yes. The system runs in the browser on phones and tablets, without separate installation.

Does it connect to farm records?

Yes. Juvenile lots transferred to farms continue as batches in farm management with their history.
