What a feed mill needs to control

1. Planning: a production order is created for a product, quantity and formula version.
2. Raw material requirement: quantities are calculated from the formula, and stock availability is visible before production starts.
3. Production: actual consumption is recorded and deducted from the raw material lots used.

Comparing planned and actual output and consumption for every batch shows yield losses, dosing errors and raw material problems while they can still be corrected.

Lot traceability in both directions

Because raw material consumption, formula and production records are linked, the cost of each batch is calculated from what was actually used. Energy, labour and other production costs can be added through the cost module. The result is a cost per tonne by product and batch that reflects reality, which is the basis for pricing and margin decisions.
